#5 Scheduling
If you aren’t already scheduling some of your social media posts now is the time to start! Scheduling means you can fully concentrate on other tasks while still maintaining your social media profiles. More on scheduling down in my #1 spot.
#4 Watching Hashtags
If there is a particular hashtag that you’d like to follow and be able to see real-time posts about it, HootSuite is fantastic! Set up a stream to view a hashtag and when you are going in to check your accounts, the stream will be there for you to easily view. This also works out well for Twitter chats.
#3 Finding Content
New to HootSuite is the find content feature, which makes it even easier to get content to share. I haven’t personally used this yet, as I prefer to hand-pick content, but I will keep checking to see if the content is what I’m looking for.
#2 Analytics
There is a wide array of analytic reports that you can create on HootSuite to track progress and performance. If you are not a huge fan of social media sites analytics – give these a shot.
#1 Bulk Scheduling
HootSuite makes this super easy, and makes it even easier if you want to schedule an entire month (or
more) in advance. HootSuite allows you to upload a bulk amount of posts quickly with a .csv file. So it will take you a little while to fill out the .csv file, but once it is filled out it takes literally 2 minutes to upload to HootSuite and then you have a solid month of posts set up. I have included a bulk upload template that is all set and ready to go for October 2014 (I’ll try to add other months in as we go.) So all you have to do is click here to access it, there is room for 3 posts a day. You simply enter in the text of your post in column b and the link in column c. HootSuite will let you know if you have duplicates or if you are creating tweets it will let you know if they are too long. Then you can simply go back in and adjust whats need to be and re-upload. Also if you want to schedule content for October and it’s already say October 6th, just deleted all the rows of days that have already passed, and you will be set up for the rest of the month!
